Here it is nearly the end of April already! It has been a difficult start to the year with other distractions taking away what time and energy I have had to write, but fortunately these are now nearing some sort of resolution and I am finding the muse has started plucking at my sleeve again.
I have just finished the edits on THE KING'S MAN and I have to keep pinching myself to think it will be out in just two short months!
In the meantime the cover for BY THE SWORD has been finalised (above) and I'm delighted with it. This is a story that has lived with me, really since I was 11 years old and my grandfather first took me to Harvington Hall in Worcestershire. Harvington has been Seven Ways and peopled with the Thornton family for so long that when I went back there a few years ago, I had to stop and think about the very different family that had lived in the house! I had wanted the cover of BY THE SWORD to show Harvington Hall, but Steve, my cover artist, talked me out of it. Just so you know what Seven Ways looks like...this is a picture of Harvington Hall!
Cheers
Alison
